An echocardiogram (echo) is a safe and very effective way to look inside of your body to see your heart. It lets us see all four of the heart’s chambers and the major blood vessels in the body so to ensure that everything is working properly.

  1. BulletJust like the EKG, an echo is an easy and  completely pain free procedure to have done.

  2. BulletWarm gel is used to help take better pictures but it easily washes off once the test is done.

  3. BulletThe whole test takes only 10-15 minutes from start to finish and you need to stay as still as you can for most of it so ensure that the results are accurate.

  4. BulletIf you are good, you might get a picture to take home with you!

Fetal Echo

  1. BulletSometimes it is necessary to evaluate a baby’s heart before it is born.

  2. BulletIn such instances, it is possible to look through the mother’s stomach to see the baby’s heart and make sure it is ok.
