Ann Margaret Santa-Ines, MD

Areas of Interest:

Dr. Ann Margaret Santa-Ines joined our group in 2022. She has a special interest in fetal cardiology, with focus on diagnosis and family-centered management of complex congenital heart disease from fetal life through adolescence.

Her clinical and research interests are in Pediatric Echocardiography, and quality improvement. While at Yale, she developed a patient passport for individuals to organize medical visits in their continuity of care which are still used today. She enjoys delivering comprehensive cardiac care to patients with congenital and acquired heart disease.

Dr. Santa-Ines is very involved in medical education both at the medical school level and the postgraduate level. She has presented numerous lectures to colleagues and students at Yale, Mount Sinai, Columbia, Good Samaritan hospital and several conferences.

Dr. Santa-Ines also sits on a National Hispanic Medical Association committee.

She was born and raised in Queens, and has strived to stay in New York, where her family of Chilean and Ecuadorian descent still live.

She speaks fluent Spanish, and conversational French.

Dr. Santa-Ines finds it incredibly rewarding to establish lasting relationships with her patients and their families. She values continuity of care and prioritizes respectful discussions of diagnoses and courses of action.

Dr. Santa-Ines knows how important the family dynamic is when it comes to important medical diagnoses and meets each unique patient and their families with patience, grace, and thorough explanations with each visit.
